Overview

The ECFS Technology Working Group is a parent/guardian-led initiative to improve communication and collaboration regarding the growing concerns about the impact of smartphones and social media on our children.

We began our work last year discussing Jonathan Haidt's four new norms outlined in The Anxious Generation:

• No smartphones until 9th grade

• No social media until 10th grade

• Increasing free play and independence

• Phone-free schools

These discussions surfaced significant alignment and many great ideas.

This year, we want to continue working together to:

• Keep our kids safe and happy

• Have healthy relationships with technology and each other

• Strengthen family connections

• Create opportunities for community alignment around technology choices

We plan on having monthly meetings with the community to discuss important topics or invite speakers to talk to the group.

We will use this website to share resources and information better.
